Dare to {Dream} #tptsellerchallenge Week 2

Dare to {Dream}
#tptsellerchallenge Week 2

The Week 1 challenge was great! It really forced me to look at my products from a different perspective and make them more inviting. It also inspired me to update my TPT Store in general; I made a banner for my store! Fun!

Well this week is all about dreaming big...and I've got a few good ones :)

1. Since I don't have a new teaching job lined up in Texas, I will be subbing. We all know this is not guaranteed income...I mean, who gets a sub in August/September?? So I really need my TPT sales to triple, who am I kidding...they need to increase like ten-fold...which I know may be a bit out there, but I will take any sort of raise in sales I can get. :)

2. I am getting married in October and we all know marriage isn't easy. I know we'll have to work at it and I want to :) I want to be the best wife that I can be...I may not be perfect, but I want to be there for him and support him in all he does.

3. I've had some health issues the last few years [nothing serious, more annoying than anything], and sometimes I really let them get me down. "Why can't I just be normal?" is often a question I'll ask out loud to nobody in particular. I want to learn how to take them in stride and not focus on them, but simply adapt and move on.

Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope you achieve your dreams! :)

Winner of the Back To School Planner and more!

Winner winner chicken dinner! Congrats to Charlotte K. for winning the Back to School Planner! Thanks to everyone for linking up and signing up and following the blog in general :)

If you're sad you didn't win, you can always head on over to my TPT Store and purchase this awesome planner so you too can be cool like Charlotte ;)

In other news, I'm continuing to work on the Makeover Madness challenge from the #tptsellerchallenge, and I've made over a few more items in my store! I've given a few items a facelift, and changed the content AND cover of one of my freebie items for the first day of school. One of my most popular freebies is my First Day of School BINGO...and I updated it! :)
For this makeover, I updated the font [kind of reminds me of Gatsby], made the directions a little more clear, and changed a few of the choices :)

Hope you're enjoying all the makeovers! Have a great day!

Makeover {MADNESS} #tptsellerchallenge

TPT Seller Challenge-Week 1

So excited for this first week's challenge!

It's a little challenging [no pun intended] for high school teachers to use clip art and doodles without the kids thinking we're treating them like elementary school kids. So this week's challenge was interesting for me.

So how I got started: I went onto my TPT Store and started looking through my products. And then I came across my Fahrenheit 451 unit. There was not really a cover page to it, just pictures of the worksheets and so on. AND, this unit has not received any starts/reviews, so this seemed like the perfect product to makeover :)

Here's the before...

Very boring...I probably wouldn't have looked at this twice as a buyer either. So I decided it needed some color and something to entice buyers. I didn't need to change the content of the product because the content is solid, but the visual needed work. I also changed the name of the unit from "small" to "brief". Small made it seem like maybe it wasn't worth the money, but brief sends a better message that it may not be a 50 page unit, but it still has valuable content.

Here's the after...
Now that makes me interested, and looks like I took the effort to create something nice for my clients. Here's a closer look at the new cover I created to draw buyers in.
I added a cool font called: Cheap Fire that really adds a nice touch. I also added words within the burning book picture that relate to themes of the novel: Censorship, Knowledge, and then I wrote "What would you do?" [in the fire font as well] to get the buyer thinking.

This is just the first makeover I did. I'm going to do a few more and think it will really make a difference :) Fingers crossed!

TPT Seller Challenge!

Cus I don't have enough going on, right?! However, I thought this challenge would be a great tool for me. Especially since I'm moving to another state and won't have a steady job for a while...I really need to beef up and utilize my TPT the best I can.

I'm a day late signing up, but I can still do it :)

Week One is Makeover Madness...I'm looking into this and doing this challenge this week! I'm so excited to see how my stats grow and to grow my business :)

Thanks ladies for setting this up! :)

Summer Giveaway!

It is officially summer [well I have to go to a meeting on Monday and check out, but then it's summer] and some of you have been on break for a few weeks now...lucky.

So I know that a lot of people say to relax over summer, don't do any planning, use your time off. Well I agree, to an extent. I'm of the mindset that "working" on your lesson plans or organizing one day a week isn't that bad, and will help keep you from going crazy once the school year starts again. You know what I'm talking about...the teachers sitting in the teacher lounge trying to scramble up a lesson plan for that day! We've all been there once or twice, but let's not do that to ourselves anymore!

I've got a great summer planner that will help you stay on track over the summer so that you don't go crazy once the school year creeps up on you :) This planner breaks down planning by weeks, so that you don't get overwhelmed trying to do everything at once...no one wants to freak out over work on summer vacation :)

Well ONE lucky person will WIN this summer planner this week!!! I'm giving away one summer planner and you could be the lucky winner!!!

Here's a peak at the planner:

There's also monthly calendars for the summer months so you can write down when you're going to work and keep track of your summer plans and work plans in one place. Staying organized is HUGE and will pay off in the long run.

So join with Rafflecopter below, follow directions, and you could be the lucky winner!!! I'll email the planner to one lucky winner, and all you have to do is print it out :) Enjoy!

Last Week of School!!!

I made it...it is officially the last week of school. Finals are tomorrow and Thursday, and then we're done.

I've been packing up my classroom and it looks so sad :( All the decorations are gone, all the personal touches. It's a little bitter sweet, leaving somewhere you've been for so long; but on to a better and brighter future :)

I got my TAs "thank you" gifts, got my homeroom class donuts today, and will do my annual little note to the students on their last days. Here's that note, just in case you're interested [I found it on Pinterest and the author is unknown].

Have a wonderful Summer everyone!!

June Currently...and 1.5 weeks left!

It's June!!!! Do you know what that means?! That school is almost out! woo hoo!

Once again I am linking up with Farley to bring you my monthly Currently. Enjoy!

Our school lets out on the 11th, we still come Friday the 12th and Monday the 15th and then we're done. But this year, I'll have to pack up my room and leave the school for good. It'll be bittersweet, but starting a new adventure is exciting and I can't wait :)

Happy June everyone!
