Classroom Newsletter-FREEBIE

This year I am going to attempt to do a classroom newsletter. I'm going to email it home to all the parents at the beginning of each month. I have found that high school parents tend to like to let the kids "try to figure things out on their own", and are often VERY surprised to find out of an upcoming test or paper and seem to think that I did not provide proper notice [despite my website].

I know that elementary school teachers do this, but I've never thought of doing it for high school. It might be a little more work for me, basically just creating the parent email list for each class, [after that, sending the email isn't much work]. But hopefully this will create a more cohesive unit of parents, students, and teacher.

It goes with my new blue chevron theme this year. You can easily replace the "picture" of the chevron with any other background you'd like, to fit your theme. Try it out and see what you think!

  1. Hello

Thank you for this amazing classroom newsletter. Last school year, I sent home a classroom newsletter to my fifth graders to give to parents but I found out numerous students hid the newsletter in their desk. Therefore, I would send a daily email to parents about the students' homework and events occurring in the classroom and school.

I am going to use this classroom newsletter freebie this school year and see how it works out.

    Again, thank you!

    1. Oh totally! I know the kids won't give it to their parents....it'll be rough, but that's why I'm going to do the email group to the parents-to ensure they see it! Thanks for following and commenting!

  3. Hello! I'm a new reader and wanted to let you know I'm loving this idea! I'm trying out Edmodo this year in my class and I'm thinking a digital newsletter like this would be a great addition. Thanks for the idea!

    1. I have used Edmodo and really liked it! But our school tech guy said he couldn't monitor it enough so we stopped using it after a year.
